We envision a world where the Hyacinth MaCaw is no longer captured from the wild for the pet trade. The aim of the foundation is to bring the Hyacinth Macaw out of endangered species status through the promotion of captive breeding programs and the continuing education of owners and prospective owners alike. We believe that if we can educate owners on the difficulties of rearing, caring, handling, and breeding these magnificent birds that those kept as pets will live longer and happier and will not be abandoned. Through this, educating the public on how these birds are treated when captured, we will be able to decrease the number that are illegally imported and eventually bring them off of the endangered species list.
